Unveiling the Magic in Everyday Life
A different approach to wellness
What is Expressive Arts Therapy?
Expressive Arts Therapy is a guided process that brings together creative expression, body awareness, and reflection. Through movement, sound, painting, writing, theater, and other forms of expression, we explore your feelings and curiosities, play with materials, and make room for what emerges through imagination, intuition, and discovery.
We bring the invisible into visible and tangible forms, giving you something to explore, play with, and reshape as you move toward the changes you desire in your life.
Expression + Arts + Therapy

Let it out
Feel. Release. Surrender
Explore. Play. Create
Give it shape
Create meaning
Reflect. Understand. Integrate.

Reclaim the Power of Being YOU!
Beneath the shoulds, expectations, habits and outside noise, there is your own...
inner wisdom
rhythm
impulses
desires
ways of knowing
unique gifts
special ways of being you
Creative expression gives you space to hear and explore these parts of your truest essence.
Within our challenges are resources and gifts we have to share with the world. Our work is to discover and amplify these.
Expression turns your attention inward, toward your own experience. Here, there is room for the thoughts, feelings, and desires you've learned to hide, judge, or soften to make others comfortable. Here you have space to express yourself fully, as you are, without needing to be anybody else. We want you to be MORE YOU!

We are not only linear, logical, mental beings. We are also...
Take imperfect action!

Move your body.
Make the mark.
Tear the paper.
Collect objects.
Follow what wants to happen next.
No need to make something beautiful.
Just come into contact with what's here.
No need to know where it's going.
Notice the image.
Touch the clay.

Art gives us space to express ourselves as we truly are.
Here we practice how to...
Creative expression gives all our parts a language.

Let the Creative Process Guide You
Bring your Challenges
The process has its own wisdom. The value of this work lives within the creative process. What you make doesn't need to be beautiful or impressive. It gives you somehting to enter into relationship with.
You bring yourself, and the materials respond. Surprises happen. You meet the creative process and something new becomes possible between you.
The therapeutic aspect of this work is that we deliberately invite our challenges
Expression

Therapy
Expressive Arts Therapy is a creative, experiential, and holistic approach to self-exploration, healing, and personal growth that invites us to engage with the full richness of being human—not only through words and thinking, but through movement, painting, drawing, sculpture, sound, voice, music, writing, storytelling, drama, imagination, ritual, and play. Rooted in psychology, the arts, phenomenology, and the understanding that mind, body, emotions, and imagination are deeply interconnected, this approach recognizes that we experience life through far more than our intellect. So much of what we carry—our feelings, memories, desires, fears, patterns, strengths, and possibilities—exists beyond what we can easily explain in words. Through the creative process, we give these invisible experiences form, making them visible, tangible, and available for exploration. A sensation might become a movement, a movement might become a drawing, a drawing might inspire a story, and that story might reveal something entirely unexpected. This movement between artistic forms, known as intermodality, opens different pathways into our experience, allowing us to discover perspectives, meanings, and possibilities that might otherwise remain inaccessible. Unlike traditional art classes, the focus is not on artistic skill, technique, or producing something beautiful. And unlike approaches that rely primarily on conversation and analysis, expressive arts therapy invites us to encounter our experiences directly, through our senses, bodies, imaginations, and creative responses. There is no right way to create, no predetermined outcome, and no need to consider yourself an artist. What matters is the experience of creating, what arises through it, and the relationship we develop with what emerges. At its heart, Expressive Arts Therapy is a practice of presence, receptivity, creative response, and relationship—with ourselves, with others, and with life itself. Within a supportive, attentive, and nonjudgmental space, we slow down enough to notice what is actually here, rather than immediately trying to change, interpret, or fix it. We listen to the body, make room for emotions, follow curiosity, and allow the unknown to participate. The creative process becomes a living dialogue: we receive what is present, respond through expression, witness what takes shape, reflect on what it reveals, and discover how these experiences connect to our everyday lives. Sometimes this process helps us release grief, tension, limiting beliefs, or identities that no longer serve us. Sometimes it reconnects us with joy, playfulness, sensuality, courage, imagination, and parts of ourselves that have been neglected or forgotten. At other times, it becomes a laboratory for life—a place to experiment with new ways of relating, expressing ourselves, making choices, setting boundaries, navigating uncertainty, and shaping possibilities before bringing them into the world. The facilitator does not prescribe what an artwork means or tell us who we should become; instead, they accompany us with curiosity, sensitivity, and care, supporting our capacity to discover meaning and develop trust in our own experience and inner wisdom. The process may be spacious and exploratory or oriented toward a particular question, challenge, or creative project, always leaving room for the unexpected. And the experience does not necessarily end when the session is over: an image, gesture, metaphor, insight, or piece of artwork can continue speaking to us, becoming a resource for reflection and integration long afterward. Over time, this practice can cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional expression, self-compassion, resilience, connection, creative confidence, and freedom. Ultimately, expressive arts therapy is not simply about making art or solving problems. It is about discovering a more conscious, creative, embodied, and authentic way of participating in life—one in which we learn not only to understand ourselves, but to listen, respond, experiment, and allow more of who we are to come alive

SOUND
A hum, a sigh, a simple rhythm, the sound of the pencils in your pencil jar... Let the vibrations carry you.
If your day had a rhythm, what would it sound like?
You don't have to be a musician!

There are no correct steps to follow!
Your body can take up space here! Practice following your sensations and impulses.

How does Expressive Arts translate into life?

Sessions are not just therapy. They are practice for the life you are wanting to live.
What kinds of challenges can we work with together?
WORK & CREATIVE PROJECTS
"I keep rewriting the proposal I haven't sent yet."
Let something be ready enough.
Following your curiosity, playing with materials, and discovering something you couldn't have planned.
RELATIONSHIPS
"I say yes, then feel resentful. I don't know how to say no."
Find your yes. Practice your no.
Exploring what yes and no feel like in your body, and trying out a boundary in your own words.
Instead of ......
Imagine....
DECISIONS & DIRECTIONS
"I keep asking everyone else. I don't know what I want anymore."
Feel your own response.
Giving each possibility a shape, a place or a voice and noticing which one draws you closer.
CHANGE & LOSS
" I know things have changed, but I haven't really caught up."
Make room for what's next
Creating something that holds what you miss, what you're leaving, and what you might be ready to welcome.
FEELINGS & SELF-EXPRESSION
"I don't know how to say what I feel."
Express your truth
Letting an image, gesture, sound, or metaphor speak first without needing to explain it perfectly.
PLEASURE & EVERYDAY LIFE
"I get everything done, but I don't feel like myself."
Follow what nourishes you
Making room to move, play, and notice what feels good and finding small ways to bring that into your day.
Art has the beautiful ability to hold us and all of our parts.

Creative Process = Life Process The creative realm mirrors your life. What reveals itself while you create, can reveal information about how you move through life. As you make, you may notice how you respond to uncertainty, mistakes, choices, control, and the unexpected. This laboratory becomes a small, low-stakes laboratory for life where you can experiment with not knowing, making a 'wrong mark', following impulses, or allowing something to change. The challenges we overcome, and strengths we discover while making art, give us valuable and embodied understanding about what might be possible in your daily life.
We don't just talk.
We listen to the WHOLE of you.
WE DON'T NEED TO PUSH.
WE DON'T NEED TO FORCE.
WE SIMPLY, ALLOW.
Less Thinking.
More Living.

Why Expressive Arts Therapy?
Mental analysis can only take you so far. What your body, soul, and mind are really craving is movement, experimentation, connection to your body, and your desire. You need contact with materials, and the parts of you that don't communicate in a neat sentence.
Expressive Arts brings the invisible and transforms it into something visible, auditory, kinesthetic... Something tangible. Something we can see, hear, touch and play with.
This isn't simply an art class. And it isn't simply therapy. Through being in a therapeutic container while making art, amazing things can happen.
More analysis doesn't create more clarity.
Experiences Create Clarity
Humans need movement, experimentation, contact with our bodies, contact with desire, contact with materials, contact with the parts of us that don't communicate in a neat sentence.

Expressive Arts is simply the most soulful, nourishing, delightful, beautiful, deep, expansive, all-encompassing work that i've found. Whatever your challenge or desire is, bring it. The arts can hold us. It blows my mind how generous and full of range this work is. seriously. Many other methods tell you how to do something. This one really just helps you find your very own way through this life. You get to make up your own rules here. Expressive Arts feels like coming home. Remember what if feels like to trust yourself? Remember what it feels like to feel joy because a hummingbird came to your window? Remember what it feels like to even notice that the hummingbird came to your window and to actually pause and admire it?? Or let it make you wonder.... about beauty, and creatures, and nature, and how can those wings even move so fast?!?! When we let ourselves be touched by life, we know we're alive.... otherwise, we're kind of just on autopilot. Numb. Going through the motions without feeling the zest of life with us. The joy. The mystery. The beautiful surprises. We create a space for YOUR authentic expression, not Johnny's or Annie's or Sarah's or Melanie's. Just yours. This is more than typical talk therapy We work within the sacred realm. Both of us are asked to surrender inside the container, in a portal between time and space. We enter the Timeless.
